Toyota launched its international brand platform “Let’s Go Places” to an NZ audience. A huge part of Toyota’s future is building towards sustainability and getting to carbon zero by 2050.

So it seemed the perfect opportunity to humorously point out the absurdity of moving to Mars (we’re looking at you, Elon) when we have a perfectly good planet right here - told through the disapproving eyes of NZ teens.

New Zealand doesn’t have wonderfully safe roads. That’s not changing anytime soon but Toyota’s Safety Sense at least gives Kiwis a better way to drive safer. For this spot we leaned into “car crash advertising” tropes and subverted it to a happier ending. Written by and with the wonderful Cece Chu.
