About me.
Corey Chalmers is a highly awarded creative leader and one of New Zealand’s premier writers. Happiest at the intersection of story, innovation, strategy, and the endless new ways of telling brand stories or creating brand experiences in a digital world, Corey leads by example while nurturing the next generation of creatives.
Currently CCO at NZ indie, YoungShand, a human agency with a digital core, building out full service capabilities without the need for an expensive cast of thousands. Digital at the heart, creative at the core, and proudly Built for Bold.
Previously ECD at Saatchi & Saatchi for nearly a decade, Corey was integral in the agency’s revival as a creative force after a lean few years, leading the agency to multiple Axis Grand Prix wins, Golds at Cannes, D&AD Yellow Pencils, One Show, Webbys, AWARD, Clios, Spikes and numerous Gold Effies.
The work under Corey’s watch has been award-winning across an incredibly wide range of disciplines: from Film to UX, PR to Promo/Activation, Branded Content to Mobile Marketing, and beyond.
An in-demand judge, Corey has judged Cannes and D&AD (twice), AWARD five times, AdFest, and local show Axis more times than he can remember.
Born in Nelson, raised in Tapanui, Invercargill, Dunedin, Rangiora and Christchurch, Corey is a diehard South Islander who proudly rolls his “r”s.
